I am grateful for the warm welcome Ken and I have received as we move to Thomasville and I begin ministry as your Pastor at Thomasville First. I look forward to coming along side you in ministry and worship as we discern together where God might be leading us as disciples who seek to share Christ, build disciples and send ministers. Thank you to all who have prayed for us, sent cards, emails and texts encouraging us as we prepared to move.
I have been married to Rev. Ken Myers for 9 years. We met in Albany, Georgia as he served as pastor at Avalon UMC and I at Albany First UMC. I have three children: Lee Austin, Joshua Austin and Katie Austin and three grandsons Eli, Jaxon and Carter and a delightful daughter-in-law Kelly (Joshua) Austin. Lee lives in Thomasville and is a RN at Archbold. Joshua is a teacher at Chestatee High School in Gainesville, Georgia and Katie entered the Father’s presence April 2019.
I entered ministry in 2000 after working as a RN for 10 years and a High School teacher for 13 years. I graduated from Georgia Southwestern School of Nursing and the University of Georgia School of Education. Upon answering the call to pastoral ministry, I served a student appointment in the North Georgia annual conference while attending Asbury Theological Seminary. I completed seminary in 2008 while serving Attapulgus/Hannatown UMC Charge.
Upon completing my MDiv at Asbury I joined the staff as an Associate Pastor at Albany First UMC. I have also served as pastor of Hand Memorial UMC and Ashburn First/Sycamore Circuit.
I look forward to getting to know you as we seek to minister together and advance the Kingdom of God in Thomasville and beyond.
