Kathryn Prothro, Director of Young Learners Academy
Place of Birth: Swainsboro, Ga but grew up in Augusta, Ga
Children: I have two children a son, Stephen and a daughter, Lily
Married: Jason Prothro
Education: Associates in General education from Georgia Military College, Bachelors in Family and Consumer Science Education from the University of Georgia, and Master’s in Post-Secondary Education from Troy University
Background: I moved to Thomasville from Athens, Ga when I married my husband in July of 2012. We began going to TFUMC and become members in 2013. I taught for 17 years around Georgia in Athens, Conyers, Pelham, and lastly in Thomasville at Thomasville High School. I taught different subject areas over the year but in the last 9 years of my teaching career, I taught the Early Childhood Education pathway to high school students. This was a fun and enlightening class for students who want to pursue working with children in their future after high school.
Hobby: I enjoy spending time with my family, watching UGA Football, and going to the beach.
